Start to Finish

Carlielle Kitchens is a compact boutique-style company with a handpicked team of 25 people, each with his or her own area of expertise. Bringing together all the functions of an architectural design and project management company with specialists in kitchen design and manufacturing gives us a decided advantage over competitors in the field.

At Carlielle Kitchens, we are equally passionate with new home projects and custom renovations. Our team can take care of everything - from advising on structural changes and providing the ideal design solution to manufacturing and co-ordinating relevant tradespeople who may be required to complete the project. If necessary, we can even organise consents.

As a company built on integrity and reputation, we are proud to say over 80% of our work is repeat business from satisfied customers or commissions from new clients referred to us by them. As well as private clients, we have built up great ongoing relationships with architects, builders and property developers. These are people who know what real quality means in both design and execution. And value-for-money is always a vital consideration.

Being based in Pukekohe for over 20 years, most of our work still comes from customers in the Franklin and South Auckland area, but our reputation is definitely spreading - recent commissions have seen us working as far afield as Northland, Coromandel and the Waikato.

Barry and Sue McMiken take great pride in running a service of true international standard without leaving their hometown for the big city. Carlielle Kitchens has been a fixture in Pukekohe for over twenty years, and here we intend to stay – providing quality employment as well as stylish, cost-competitive kitchens and bathrooms.

Born and bred in the area, Barry completed his apprenticeship in Building and Joinery and worked for a number of local tradesmen before going out on his own designing and building homes. This eventually led to a role designing kitchens for Mike Carlielle, the founder of the firm, and subsequently taking over the ownership in 1996. Since that time, the full-time team has expanded from 6 to the current 25. Barry feels privileged to be able to offer young people of the area the same quality, old-fashioned apprenticeship training that he received.

Behind every good man there stands a good woman – very true in the case of Carlielle Kitchens. Sue McMiken successfully combines overseeing the company’s marketing and financial departments with a busy family life. A well balanced team, Sue compliments Barry’s creativity and craftsmanship with a strong organisational and multi tasking ability.

Both Barry and Sue look at the business as one big family, and that happy, committed employees are just as important as happy, satisfied customers. Fortunately, they have plenty of both!

Father, mother and now the children as well – the love of all things kitchen is definately hereditary!

Greg McMiken has taken over the running of the company's unique Acrocore Door Processing operation and his sister Tasha has recently joined the company with the job of translating concept drawings into final working plans for the factory. She also deals with all Housing New Zealand quoting.

Often the warm friendly greeting that you’ll receive when you call or visit Carlielle Kitchens is from Colleen. She has been with the company since 2003 and is an integral member of the customer service team.

Mark has combined practical experience in cabinetmaking and joinery with Level 3 Management training to equip him for the role of Production Manager – responsible for workflow, quality control and ensuring manufacturing deadlines are met.
