When the owners purchased this inner city bungalow, they asked Paula Waterhouse who had worked with them some years ago on a previous Kitchen Renovation to design their kitchen. With a major renovation ahead Paula took on the Interior Design and Cabinet Design to Bathrooms, Fireplace Area and Laundry. Working with the Architect from an early planning stage played an integral part in the final result.
The client brief was contemporary and streamlined, not only did they want it to look great but function effectively for their large family. The long clean lines of the kitchen give it simplicity. White Acrocore cabinetry complimented with a dark charcoal splash back and island servery panel adds instant appeal. The Acrocore doors offer durability to the families high usage and easy cleaning for the busy mum.
A larger than average kitchen offers ample storage with a scullery, easy traffic flow and stunning central island of just under four meters long. The 100mm thick top with waterfall legs has seamless joins using Hi-Macs Artic White – perfect for the family breakfasts and entertaining.
The scullery houses an additional working area with dishwasher and sink. Grocery’s can be passed through an opening straight to the scullery from the back door.
A Bar area with integrated fridge was incorporated. Materials reflected those used in the kitchen.
All vanities are wall hung, with a streamlined design. A mixture of white and grays for cabinets and stone tops flow through complimenting the rest of the home’s interior.
Overall this was a huge project, the end result is simply stunning! Using a colour pallet with cooler hue’s of grey, blues, white and charcoal accent give this home the contemporary and streamlined look they where after.
