From generation to generation our experience continues to grow
Carlielle Kitchens is a family owned company with a proud history of designing and manufacturing the highest quality kitchens in the Pukekohe area for over 20 years. Owners Sue and Barry McMiken have a close-knit team of 25 staff, each handpicked for his or her own area of expertise. From client liaison and design to craftsman fabrication and precision installation, the highest standards are assured every step of the way.
As a company built on integrity and reputation, we are proud to say over 80% of our work comes to us by word of mouth from satisfied customers. Although most of our customers are based around the Franklin and Auckland areas, we also work in Northland, Coromandel, Waikato and Waiheke areas.
The Carlielle Kitchens philosophy has always been to consider their business as one big family, and that happy, committed employees are just as important as happy, satisfied customers. Fortunately, they have plenty of both!
Born and bred in the Pukekohe area, Barry McMiken completed his apprenticeship in building and joinery and worked for a number of local tradesmen before going out on his own designing and building homes. This eventually led to a role designing kitchens for Mike Carlielle, the founder of the firm, and subsequently taking over ownership in 1996. Since that time, the full-time team has expanded from 6 to 20. Barry feels privileged to be able to offer young people of the area the same quality, old-fashioned apprenticeship training that he received.
Barry’s wife Sue successfully combines overseeing the company’s financial department with her own mini-storage business and a busy family life. A well balanced team, Sue compliments Barry’s creativity and craftsmanship with a strong organisational and multi-tasking ability.
After 18 years at the helm, Barry and Sue are now taking a step back from the business as three of their children have come on board to continue Carlielle Kitchens’ vision and passion into the future.
Doug McMiken joined the company in 2012 after completing a business studies degree at Massey University and working as a commercial manager for insurance company FMG.
Doug has taken on the role of general manager, overseeing marketing, large contract pricing and the direction of the company, and making sure that all parts of the business are working at their best together.
Greg McMiken started out running the company's unique Acrocore door processing operation and has now taken on the management of the whole workshop and at times installing. He is responsible for workflow, quality control and ensuring deadlines are met.
Greg has inherited Barry’s expert problem solving ability as well as his high standards for workmanship.
Tasha McMiken is the company’s technical and pricing expert, translating concept drawings into final working plans for the factory and install teams.
Tasha’s role is challenging as every project we do is different to the next. Her extensive experience allows her to decipher even the most complex job.
Our talented designers work across a wide spectrum of styles from traditional to contemporary, and everything in between.

Colleen Eden is generally your first point of contact when either calling or visiting our showroom. She runs our office and is an integral member of our customer service team. Colleen has been with the company since 2003 - if there is anything about one of our projects that she doesn’t know straight away, it is bound to be right at her fingertips.
Hayley Foster co-ordinates our team of expert installers - Craig, Brett, Jared and Jesse. They all have a high level of industry experience and make the trickiest part of the process seem easy.
Working under Greg’s leadership in our on-site factory are our team of eight cabinet makers. While each have their own specialist skills, they work together sharing and passing on their knowledge, all of which has contributed towards Carlielle developing their unique cabinet and door products. They take pride in manufacturing and assembling our kitchens with the highest standards of craftsmanship.

We have built great ongoing relationships with architects, builders and property developers and if necessary, we can recommend a specialist builder/project manager or other trades you may need. "
