Stanmore Bay - Vanity
The main objective of this renovation project was to modernise the existing house and improve the open plan living, dining & kitchen space suited for functional family living.
Located on a coastal cliff top, it was important that the kitchen maximised the uninterrupted sea views and incorporated casual dining.
A family home with 2 children under 6, the clients requested easy to clean cabinetry with products that didn’t show marks & finger prints from everyday living.
Working from an initial concept from their interior designer, frequent communication with the clients helped refine the best design to suit their lifestyle with designated working bench space, integrated appliances and a large corner pantry where dry-goods & small appliances could be out of sight but stored within easy reach.
Cantilevered floating shelves with concealed fixtures were introduced around the window to give unobstructed garden views whilst offering an area for the client to display her greenery. Extensive discussions were had with the builder on site to ensure these were structurally sound. Custom made solid brass rods were used to transfer the load from the concealed stainless brackets down to the bottom shelf.
The earthy material palette softens the space by introducing warmth and texture, whilst reflecting the outdoors.
White cabinetry was used in areas in direct sunlight and as relief against the timber floor & veneer cabinetry, while complementing the lighter toned bench tops.
“Every step of the process with you was exceptional – when we first met with Sarah and her patience and professionalism in accommodating and executing our vision right through to install and ironing out the little details. We are absolutely thrilled with our kitchen and bathrooms! We will always recommend you and your team!”
